Octopus Tree

This ancient oak tree clings to the edge of a deep ravine in a played-out quarry.  The gravel pits themselves are prone to erosion leaving many trees vulnerable as their roots become exposed. Spending time with this tree; standing near it, feeling it's soft mossy bark, immersed in the sweet scent of the living earth below is a powerful experience, something timeless, moving and important.
